Abstract: | R. W. Sperry, in works cited between 1952 and 1982, has proposed a solution to the mind-body problem that is both physical monist and interactionist. It is suggested, however, that objections to Sperry’s conception have sometimes been based on a failure to grasp what he has been proposing. In the interests of clarifying and defending the monist interactionist position, 7 objections to it that have been raised in the literature are considered.
