| Abstract: | Discusses the concept of conscious personality and illustrates its applications. It is suggested that personal consciousness refers to a certain totality or collection of occurrences of regnant processes. This totality belongs to one person and has a variety of possible subjective organizations. Five dimensions in which the totality that comprises a person’s personal consciousness may be differentially organized from the person’s own perspective are identified: (1) identification and externality, (2) functional attitude toward one’s mental life, (3) isolation and communicability, (4) inner perspicacity, and (5) the subjective commitment to truth. It is suggested that individuals differ with regard to each of these dimensions and are susceptible to improvement in their conscious personality.
